NO LICENSES FOR ILLEGALS

thumbsup.gif Did I miss it? The comments about the season premiere of Survivor and all those big, flopping boobs. The shows cameramen -- and I assume they were men, or lesbians -- certainly saw them and spent significant time monitoring their actions. Or, was that simply my imagination? Looks like it will be a great season for you, Bob.

thumbsup.gif So..... I don't get it. I'd say that the majority of Americans agree with what you are saying. Why should someone who has already committed an illegal act be rewarded by being able to get any kind of recognized ID, especially a drivers license?

Why is it that our illustrious politicians seem to think it's perfectly all right to reward law breakers? Is it because they are so much smarter than the rest of us?

I thought all those people holding elected offices took an oath to uphold the laws of the land and constitution. The arrogance of these people, the illegals and the politicians.

Arizona's new immigration-related laws could be sending a funny message to illegal immigrants: Open your own business.

Even though employers will have to start verifying their employees' legal right to work after Dec. 31, the state doesn't check the status of the 190,000 people with business licenses.

So following the new employer law, it could be easier for illegal immigrants with false documents to get a business license and become entrepreneurs, finances notwithstanding, than to get hired at a company.

"There is no requirement in the statute that you be a citizen to run a business in Arizona," said Dan Zemke, spokesman for the Department of Revenue. "Anybody can open a business."

When I opened an account at the bank they wanted my SS#, has that changed?

# 5. 9/24/07 1:16 AM by Confused
I must be stupid. Can anyone explain why Democrats love criminals so much?

# 6. 9/24/07 2:40 AM
freakin amazing.....a war on terror where our boys get maimed....yet our borders have more holes than hillarys health plan and were handing the dirtbags a DL

# 7. 9/24/07 4:12 AM by MIKE
Wow! I hadn't heard this, but again, it shouldn't surprise me in this state or this country. Next, it's likely they'll give convicted child molesters a free teaching degree and a job in the school system!

Seriously, why is it so difficult for some people to get the fact that these illegal aliens are here because they broke the law?

# 8. 9/24/07 4:13 AM by Dave - Scottsville, NY
thumbsup.gif Right again, Bob

# 9. 9/24/07 4:32 AM by Carole - Greenwood
thumbsup.gif I totally agree. This is ine of the stupidest things I have heard lately although I have actually thought of going to mexico and sneaking back across the river so I can get some financial help. "me no speak da english" I and many other senior citizens are hurting because they can not get food stamps or relief with medical expenses. But illegals can.

We have worked and paid our taxes and put into the ss fund for all our lives. Now we are given the backhand of the nation we love. Then illegals get everything just because they want it. So I guess being law abiding, tax paying citizens means nothing any more.

It is too late, BOB, They have won. Our country is doomed.

# 10. 9/24/07 5:43 AM by Jim Phalen - Rochester, NY
thumbsup.gif I agree allowing illegals to procure driver licenses is a bad idea. Still, it would make a good sting operation for the Feds since with an address it would be easier for them to round up and deport.....with the NYS's unwitting help.

# 11. 9/24/07 6:09 AM
Good Morning Bob, I agree 100%, but at this point what can be done ? The people we elect into office only listen to us when they need our votes.

# 12. 9/24/07 6:23 AM by Leon - Muncie, In
Please, somebody explain why liberals think the US Constitution applies to non citizens! We cannot even fight a war without providing (expensive and at tax payer's cost) proper legal counsel to captured enemy combatants. Illegal residents have rights? What is the logic behind this inane nonsense? Oh, I said liberals didn't I. I guess that explains it. A mind is a terrible thing to waste!

# 13. 9/24/07 6:34 AM by Suzie - Penfield, NY
Is this a done deal or something he has proposed? Does this have to go through legislation?

# 14. 9/24/07 6:35 AM by Eric J. - Rochester, NY
thumbsup.gif Devils advocate time:

Let’s assume for a second that most illegals are not bomb toting terrorists, but simply people who can’t get enough money working where they live, so they come here to work.

They get a license, so they must have a car – or at least access to a car. The car has insurance and license plates. Well, theoretically anyway.

How does this sequence of events happen? Think about it – they sneak over here by whatever means possible, and work hard enough to afford a car, insurance and a legal license.

I agree that this is a HUGE loophole, but it has to tell you something about their work ethic. We have lazy bums here with 100% citizenship that can’t find their way off the couch to get a job. Well – unless you count having babies or selling drugs a job.

I think we live in Bizarro World – what’s up is down, what’s wrong is right.

Editor's Note: overwhelmingly illegal aliens drive illegal cars. forget about insurance.

# 15. 9/24/07 6:50 AM by MikeNTNY - North Tonawanda, NY
thumbsup.gif Hay Bob, I agree with your statement that illegal aliens should not get drivers licenses. Your comment about them not flying is a bit off the mark though. I think they don't fly because they cannot afford it. It is much cheaper to get an old relic of a one ton van and load 23 people into it the follow the picking season. I think that one ticket for one seat for one person would seem like a waste to them. Besides, the time savings offered by flying only helps if you have a time table to follow.Back to the point at hand, they illegals must be removed an all costs. Failure to do this will doom us all to being just like Mexico and central America.

# 16. 9/24/07 6:56 AM by Dave - Webster
bOb,

Did you expect any less from Elliot Sphincter, he is a baby killing (pro-abortion) Criminal coddler (anti death penalty) anti-gun liberal. To support illegals coming to NY is right up Sphincter's alley. We republicans have one of our own to blame for Sphincter. If Pataki was not such an utter failure as a governor, a republican may have had a chance to succeed him.

# 17. 9/24/07 6:57 AM
This is like asking if we should allow child molesters to run our day care centers. Who in their right mind would think it's a good idea?

# 18. 9/24/07 6:58 AM
I have been saying for years that upstate should secede from downstate. Downstate's taxes and welfare are choking the life out of upstate. I saw there are two editorials in today's paper on that very topic. Where do I sign up???

# 19. 9/24/07 6:58 AM by hunter - e. bethany, ny
Get your heavy duty SUV and double your uninsured motorist clause coverage. Here they come. Who needs Ellis Island when all an illegal immigrant has to do is cross the NY State line to pass "go". Que pasa?

What other "entitlements" come with a driver's license...voting rights? Will their be a box on the front of the card []IE.

# 20. 9/24/07 7:08 AM by A Patriot - Lockport, NY
How much longer before they start teaching English as a second language?

# 21. 9/24/07 7:13 AM by C - Rochester
thumbsup.gif Morning Bob. You're right on again with this. What is the governor trying to prove with this stupid measure? That mexicans can be good citizens?????? What a friggin joke!!!! Oh, they will go try and get their license allright. How will they pass the written part of the exam if they can't read English? I know!!!! DMV will make the test in Spanish to HELP them. BUT are our STREET signs in Spanish?!?!? NOOOOO! we'll have a bunch of licensed morons on the road who can't read the road signs. Great. What a country. And while we are on the topic of ILLEGAL mexicans, What makes President Bush and the rest of the politicians think if they legalize the ones that are here, That they aren't gonna quit their crappy farm job and go on welfare?? Come on what a joke. The mexicans and their families will go on welfare and cripple the economy even more.

# 22. 9/24/07 7:19 AM by Steven Anderson - The Place, Utah
thumbsup.gif All right citizens.

Shaddap & say "Ahhhhh"

Here's another dose of Caster Oil for ya!

Yum Yum!

# 23. 9/24/07 7:19 AM
What kind of government takes from its citizens and gives freely to criminals, while blinding themselves to foreign terrorists...and telling us to do the same?

Iraq never was our biggest enemy. Neither is Iran or North Korea. For this we must look Within.

# 24. 9/24/07 7:35 AM by Mario - Brockport
thumbsup.gif When do "we the people" get our country back ???

Editor's Note: when we pry it from their cold, dead fingers

# 25. 9/24/07 7:38 AM by Chuck - Penfield, NY
Bob,

This is the governor who was going to make "big changes" in the way New York does business, remember? Well here come the changes....I'll give illegals a free pass...this will free up law enforcement for something more important....like spying on my enemies!

# 26. 9/24/07 7:44 AM by Frank C - Henrietta, NY
thumbsup.gif When you stop and think about it, the city of New York pretty much dictates to the rest of us Upstaters how to live.

That filthy little "International City" has nothing in common with the rest of us honest New York State residents and yet its politicians feel compelled to dictate to the rest of us who we can hire, how much tax we have to pay, etc.

Now, Columbia University has decided to let Iran's leader (that filthy little bugger)come to our state for a "hate-in", where all the perceived faults of America can be touted in the news, and impressionable, dim-witted Liberal students can be actively encouraged to hate our country.

What the hell is going on here? Don't the residents of NYC recognize an enemy to this country when they see one?

The answer, of course, is that NYC loves the limelight. The more outrageous the affront to our state and nation, the better they like it. It gets them on TV for all the world to see.

It sickens my stomach to think that these liberal pansies, egged on by their equally spineless and wriggling professors, can celebrate the arrival of a terrorist dirtbag who in all probability was instrumental in bringing down the World Trade Center.

Very well, let Columbia University celebrate the arrival of this enemy to the USA. Let them wine and dine him, thinking they have won him over, just like Neville Chamberlain thought he had won over Hitler.

But I tell you this: It will be a cold day in Hell before I donate any more money to that "International City".

If they want to deliberately place themselves and the rest of us in harm's way, merely to sate their own collective egos, they can clean the results up by themselves!

# 27. 9/24/07 7:48 AM by Paul Martin - Rochester, New York
Illegals are breaking the law. That is why they are called "Illegals". They should not have driver's licenses, or any other benefits that are received by legal residents of the United States. The only thing they should receive is an Prison ID number when they are arrested and either placed in prison, if second arrest for being illegal or for breaking any other law. Or, a Prison ID number before being deported, if it is their first arrest. Illegal means illegal, illegal, etc. Like the saying goes, "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time."

# 28. 9/24/07 7:59 AM by Dave H - Rochester, NY
thumbsup.gif Bob; Where is Joe Bruno and the Republican Party on this? The total news coverage thus far has identified this latest outrage against the State of New York, and the Nation, as a"done deal" -courtesy of Spitzer and the Donkey Party. The Democrats here in N.Y. seem to be complementing the latest ruling by the Fed. Govt. that allows the Mexican trucking industry open access to our nation. But where is the opposition that we saw last Spring when the supposedly dead "amnesty" program was resurrected in the Nations Congress? As a people we need to shout loudly at the Republican Party about getting off their country club asses and providing the oppostion that we need against what amounts to stupidity-again by the Donkey Party; And Spitzers incredibly arrogant and dictatorial mindset-first evidenced by his secret spy network of "aides" ordered to worm their way into Majority leader Brunos activities, and now focused on using the drivers license ploy as an end around run designed to nullify the defeated amnesty program, should not be underestimated,or ignored. We should stop laughing at the French, and look carefully at what Sarkouzy has done this past week-given orders to the French Police to step up their arrests, and deportations of illegals, from the 11,000 thus far,to 25,000 by next month, untill the hundredes of thousands currently residing in France are given the boot. This along with the law of being able to speak French, being willing and able to support oneself, accepting French culture and values (whatever they might be!)and providing DNA evidence when requesting "family" bring alongs. It seems as though the French people have it right-they've elected Sarkouzy,(and given the WomensLibSocialist candidate the finger)and are now undertaking that which is necessary. Is there anyone who believes we will see that sort of action here in our own nation? Dave

# 29. 9/24/07 8:09 AM by Rick
You know - for $50.00 and a six pack of Coors, we could probably get one of them to run over Ahmadinejad while he's in New York.

Just a thought.

# 30. 9/24/07 8:13 AM by steve
This kind of stuff makes me wonder if the war on terror isn't a fake.

We all must like this treatment because I don't see any of us doing anything about it.

# 31. 9/24/07 8:13 AM by Larry - Virginia
thumbsup.gif When I think of all the proof I had to show to get a driver's license, of who I was and that I really lived in Virginia, when I moved here this is unbelievable!

# 32. 9/24/07 8:19 AM by Jose - El Norte

[But Bob, if your government did not reward sloth and laziness, we would not come north. Look in your cities and rural areas and you will find a lot of able-bodied people who don't want to work because the government (other working people) pay them to not work.]

# 33. 9/24/07 8:22 AM by HALF PANSY
thumbsup.gif Unless , of course, this is like one of those "crazy like a fox" moves where they get the illegals' addresses and then they go in and arrest them deport them....

...it would be SO simple...

yeah, right.

..sometimes dumb can be SO evil...

# 34. 9/24/07 8:25 AM - Gen County
thumbsup.gif Out here in farm country we have Mexicans driving old, unregistered, uninspected, un-insured cars with expired Tennesee plates and they never get stopped. And they can't speak English when trying to buy beer at the convenience store. Let me go one day over on the inspection and I'm caught. It's nuts and the gov. is just looking for more revenue from lic. fees.

# 35. 9/24/07 8:27 AM by MIKE
Hey, if the check the "organ donor" box, then theoretically they MIGHT be able to give back to the system!

# 36. 9/24/07 8:29 AM by max
the politicians need to be punished for this constant attack against our country they are the problem not the illegals they are just doing what they can get away with and we let them ,what will it take to get these traitors back to worrying about his country also do any of these governments around the world help their own why are we asked to sent $10 per person to africa for basic netting when we have spent billions what a disgrace the criminal organization known as the U.N. it should be prosecuted under RICO laws then tossed out of the country and put in the area where the problems are but all this is moot a year from now will this country be better off my faith that our elected or coming elected officials have other priorities and it will take something drastic to restore patriotism as for illegals driving i nearly got hit by four drunk young mexicans or whatever in a junker only if there was a trooper around after a near hit they sent me the international finger and allot of what i guess was swearing in their native tongue as they sped off into the night this is probably ok in their native country glad i'm old and time is short also that mr. smith & wesson was on a ride along

# 37. 9/24/07 8:30 AM by HALF PANSY
And we thought the DMV people were cranky enough NOW.....

# 38. 9/24/07 8:36 AM
You want illegals, just head on down to New York City or Long Island. I go there frequently and I'll tell ya, it's a major problem and is out of control. Bob, I will send you an e-mail for your review.

# 39. 9/24/07 8:37 AM by rjs - Rochester,NY
thumbsup.gif The only thing that ilegals are intitled to is a free trip to where ever they came from, after a long term serving on a chain gang.

# 40. 9/24/07 8:53 AM
Our Politicians should be deported because they are in violation of the law. The laws are not being enforced and they take it upon themselves to implement change in violation of federal law, and there should and must be action taken to rid our society of this. How can the Governor of New York State get away with this? Why don't we adhere to the Federal Immigration Laws? I don't understand how this can be allowed to happen.

# 41. 9/24/07 8:56 AM by Brian
Words fail me. This is wrong.

We cannot stand, as a nation, when we selectively enforce the law.

# 42. 9/24/07 9:04 AM by Rick - Arlington, VA
thumbsup.gif More than anything, I'd like to see Spitzer arrested and charged with one count of aiding and abetting federal offenses for every license issued. Throw his ass in the same cell with those providing sanctuary for illegals anywhere in the state.

I couldn't be more disgusted, and I couldn't be happier that I left that state in the 80's. If it were anything now like it was then, I'd have come back after getting out of the USAF - but seeing what's left of it, I'll pass.

# 43. 9/24/07 9:06 AM by Mr. Buzzcut
Let's not forget that insane "Motor Voter" Law.

In the course of getting their licenses these illegals can register to vote.

Wanna guess who they'll be voting for?

# 44. 9/24/07 9:09 AM by MIKE
I'd just like to suggest that the state of NY hand out more punctuation so people like Max (#36) can have more to work with. Until then, i offer these free of charge to him (regardless if he's a legal citizen or not.)

........,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!:::::::;;;;;;.....????

# 45. 9/24/07 9:12 AM by Wes - American Fork
I was taught that driving was a privilege. I think the only privilege we should give illegal aliens is a trip back to where they came from.

# 46. 9/24/07 9:19 AM by Pete - Webster
thumbsup.gif Bob,

Right on the mark.....

If one is an illegal then you came from a place where you probably don't have a license to drive or have the required necessary insurance in the first place. Any immigrant that had/has any credibility in their own country would come to this country legally in the first place. So, in essence this freebie by Spitzer applies to only those who have no credibility or respect for rules and regulations to start with.

I read that they at least need to show a passport for the license but if they have a passport why wouldn't they already be registered as a "legal" alien?

Even if they get a license it still does not require them to have insurance, they will still be able to drive an unregistered vehicle and they will still be driving illegally. And when they get in an accident there will still be no insurance to cover the damage and/or injury!

This does not make any sense, so the question I have is; WHY is Spitzer doing this? There is no rhyme or reason in my opinion!

Is this to give them voting privileges to vote for liberals like Hillary Clinton who so freely give away our Countries Heritage?

How does a person like Spitzer who seemed to be such a stanch advocate of "law and order" as AG come to this conclusion?

Every time I think that I have got this figured out, something like this rears it ugly head.

Have we been infected with some virus that we cannot determine? I ask this because the mind set of our politicians is just so scary!

# 47. 9/24/07 9:49 AM by GVI
thumbsup.gif No belongee, no speakee, no licee. By the way, just what about the states plan makes things safer? It just unclogs the court and penal system load. How about this: If you are not legal, you are welcome to stay until you are caught. Then you pay the piper...

# 48. 9/24/07 9:58 AM by Joe - Webster
thumbsup.gif You should have a third category besides "yes" and "no:" HELL, No!! Although I am a registered Republican, I voted for Spitzer each time he ran as Attorney General. I did not vote for him as governor, nor will vote for him again for anything, based upon this travesty.

# 49. 9/24/07 10:02 AM by forkman
This is unbelievable. What has happened to common sense in this country? Would you set a place at the dinner table for someone who has broken into your home and refuses to leave? Hell no!

What is happening to this country??

# 50. 9/24/07 10:12 AM by Beth - Canandaigua, NY
thumbsup.gif Seriously are our legislators this retarded? OR our we the retarded ones by not demonstrating and doing a HUGE writing campaign to our local papers and our reps? And most of all by our voting choices? We keep sending the same people back to Albany and expecting different results.
